St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish Mortlake Support Questionnaire

This is Our Story…

St Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Mortlake was established in 1895 to service the local community of Mortlake. This Year we are celebrating the 125th Anniversary of our wonderful Parish.

We are a parish which, through the leadership of our new Parish Administrator, Father Tom Stevens, has embraced the Spirit and reflects this in the involvement of parishioners in various parish groups and activities.

It is our aim to be witnesses to Christ in our community and to strive to make our parish family a happy and holy environment in which to belong. We encourage our local community to join with us in our celebrations and be encouraged to call on us if we can be of assistance to you in any way.

Communication is a more recently introduced ministry for St Patrick’s Parish Mortlake.

The environment in which Christian faith formation will operate over the next few years requires new thinking and new models, processes, resources and technologies to address the spiritual needs of all generations. This was very clearly identified from our parish assemblies as part of the Archdiocese Parish 2020 initiative during 2017.

Our Communication Ministry was established to address these needs so that our parish will stay engaged in daily life and ministry. A group of volunteer parishioners with varied skills established the Communication Ministry.

They commenced their ministry with 2 projects to be completed before the end of 2017.

The first project was to introduce a quarterly parish newsletter. The inaugural Summer 2017 Edition was published on November 25, 2017.

The second project was to update and modernise the parish website. The new website came online on November 30, 2017.

In 2018 parishioners may expect more exciting projects such as the introduction of social media; subscriptions to electronic versions of the parish newsletter; frequent updates of parish news and events are some of the projects being planned.
