“Prepare the Way of the Lord”. That simple message in St Mark’s Gospel today says it all. The Advent Wreath in our church reminds us of the light of our life whose birth we are about to celebrate. The Christmas tree reminds us that Jesus is the centre of all the great saving events in human history. The Christmas crib symbolically awaits the arrival of the Christ child. This is a wonderful time of joyful anticipation. At home you are probably putting up Christmas decorations and turning on the lights on your Christmas tree. When you turn on your Christmas lights, say this little prayer.
