Temperatures over 40 degrees and a hot blustery wind didn’t spoil the good cheer and enjoyment of this festive luncheon.

It was heartening to talk to these lovely people. One of their leaders, Sue said there had been not one case of Covid- 19 in the social housing districts in the inner city areas such as Waterloo .

I also found our more about David’s Place and the people who work there.

From their website : It is an INNER CITY SPACE WHERE SYDNEY’S
HOMELESS AND MARGINALISED CAN COME TO FIND
FRIENDSHIP, PEACE, SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT
AND CONNECT WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY.

As an additional volunteer, I witnessed the generosity and hard work of the various organisers from our parish, St Vincent de Paul and the Social Justice Ministry. Many thanks to Father Tom and all involved. I went home happy but humbled.
